The Samsung CLP-300 is the world’s smallest colour laser printer but its till packs quite a punch. Colour laser printer has previously been out of reach of the homer user because they are too big a outlay to justify there superior performance over inkjet printers, also the printer cartridges although work out cheaper on a cost per page basis their purchase price is too high for the home user. Samsung CLP-300 toner cartridges are different however they print less pages than your average Samsung toner cartridges but they also cost lot less to buy, this makes them affordable and opens up colour laser printing to the home user market. Because the CLP-300 is so much cheaper than the average colour laser printer there are bound to be some compromises in terms of performance but the CLP-300 still fits its purpose of bridging the gap between the slow speeds of an inkjet printer and the expense of a colour laser printers. Printing speed of CLP-300 is far better than any inkjet printer, it capable of printing 16ppm in mono and 4ppm in colour. In terms of pf print quality the CLP-300 is a good performer it prints black text with excellent clarity and the colour graphics it produces are very impressive, the only thing is falls down on is printing high resolution photographs but is was never designed for this so it not much of an issue. Being a budget printer you would expect the build quality of the CLP-300 to be a bit dodgy but this is not the case, the built quality is solid and all the plastics feel like they should hold up to some punishment. Is obvious that Samsung have designed the CLP-300 from the ground up and have succeeded in what they set out to do, which is to provide the home user with an affordable and value for money colour laser printer.
